Only in the Ozarks – Photo Diary Entry #1

I’ve had this site in limbo for a little over a year.  Usually, I blog over at my creative site, Linda Peterson Designs.  Being a creative person and designer in the creative industry for over 20 years, it has been my passion to inspire creativity to others.  I love it, it’s what I do.  It’s what I know.

But I also know that I need to make some positive changes in my health.  Those stories don’t fit on my other site, but they do here.  I MUST quit making excuses.  People say you should love your body, but I don’t.  It’s just not acceptable and It’s not going to be acceptable until I get off my excuse wagon and make changes.

I like to walk, I like photography.  I made excuses not to walk for many reasons, but in doing that I’ve missed so much of the beautiful land around me.  I live in the Ozark Mountains, not far from Branson.  Below our home in the valley is Jackson’s spring.  I’ve been photographing this area recently and doing some history and discovered some stories that need to be told.

We got a little ice and snow last week, but that didn’t keep me from walking.  I’ve always loved this red barn.  I wish I knew it’s history.

The goats came running up to me.  I think I disappointed them because I didn’t have any treats for them.  Cute little baby though, maybe they were just showing off?

Curious horses from a neighboring farm.

I love the sound of the crystal clear water of Jackson’s Spring as it trickles over the rocks.  Peaceful.

I bought a FitBit today and have the goal of 10,000 steps per day. Can’t wait to document more.  Check back often for another “Only in the Ozarks” entry.
